Product Description
A flange is a connecting part used to join shafts or pipe ends; flanges are also used on equipment inlets and outlets to connect two pieces of equipment, such as a speed reducer flange.
A flange connection or flange joint is a detachable connection consisting of a set of combined sealing structures composed of a flange, gasket, and bolts. Pipe flanges are flanges used in piping systems, while equipment flanges refer to the inlet and outlet flanges of equipment. Flanges have holes for bolts to connect the two flanges tightly, with gaskets used for sealing between the flanges. Flanges are classified into threaded (screw) flanges, welded flanges, and clamp flanges. Flanges are used in pairs; low-pressure pipes can use threaded flanges, while those with pressures above 4 kg should use welded flanges. Two flange plates are joined with a sealing gasket and tightened with bolts. Flanges of different pressures have different thicknesses and use different bolts. When connecting to pipes, water pumps and valves are also made in corresponding flange shapes and are called flange connections. Generally, any connecting parts that use bolts to connect and seal two flat surfaces are called "flanges," such as the connection of ventilation pipes. These types of parts can be called "flange-type parts." However, this connection is only a part of a device. For example, it's inappropriate to call a water pump a "flange-type part" when talking about a flange and pump connection. Comparatively smaller equipment like valves can be referred to as "flange-type parts".
